Create a rule
Open Access402 → Rules in WordPress and select WordPress page or post. Search for the resource, choose the result, then provide a useful display name, description, and USDC price.
The plugin stores the stable WordPress resource ID, preventing a permalink edit from silently creating a different rule. Duplicate rules for the same resource are rejected.
Choose an access policy
- Pay every request requires a new settlement for every paid response.
- Pay once per wallet creates a reusable grant bound to the paying wallet and rule.
- Time-limited access accepts the wallet-bound grant until its configured expiration.
Browser and agent behavior
An unpaid browser visit receives the Access402 payment interface. An x402-compatible agent receives the machine-readable HTTP 402 challenge and can pay and retry programmatically.
Authorized WordPress roles can bypass payment when role bypass is enabled. The bypass is based on the authenticated WordPress user, not a client-supplied header.
Disable or delete
Disabling a rule keeps its settings but stops protection. Deleting removes the rule. If discovery was enabled, Access402 also requests removal from the external index.
