Install the agent skill

Install the packaged canonical Access402 skill for Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor and invoke it explicitly.
Last reviewed August 10, 2026

Run the command from the root of the application you want to protect. Pinning 0.2.4 makes the installed workflow reproducible.

Codex

npx -y @access402/cli@0.2.4 skill install --agent codex

The CLI installs the canonical skill at .agents/skills/access402/SKILL.md and its OpenAI metadata at .agents/skills/access402/agents/openai.yaml. Invoke it with $access402 or ask Codex for an Access402 or x402 integration task. Codex can discover skills from their descriptions and can also be invoked explicitly with $. See the official OpenAI skill documentation.

Claude Code

npx -y @access402/cli@0.2.4 skill install --agent claude-code

The skill is installed at .claude/skills/access402/SKILL.md. Invoke it with /access402, then name the routes, methods, prices, and access modes you want.

Cursor

npx -y @access402/cli@0.2.4 skill install --agent cursor

Cursor receives the same canonical skill at .cursor/skills/access402/SKILL.md plus small command and rule wrappers. Invoke /access402 in Agent mode.

Verify the installation

Open the installed SKILL.md and compare its SHA-256 digest with public-skill.lock.json in the npm package. For skill-v1.2.0, the expected skill digest is:

366b2a307a8071d513bc61bd7d836cc59499317fcef0ec8f861728e5cc45e327

The public tagged source is for review and release provenance. Customer installation uses the verified files already included in the npm package and does not execute instructions fetched from GitHub.
